Information Manager @ Sweco / BIM Basics Trainer / International speaker
I am an experienced Engineer with a history of curiosity and self-taught skills. Although I started with a Bachelor in civil engineering and a Master in Environmental & Infrastructure planning, I always found almost every engineering discipline worthwhile to learn about. Now working as an information management expert I enjoy working with all of those disciplines. My curiosity helps me to see the patterns between the different fields of engineering. Although all of them are of course allowed to call themselves the key-discipline, they are not that much different. Every time it is all about data and how humans work with it. I like to be the guy behind the screen, who helps others being good at getting information out of that sometimes stubborn data, without them feeling bothered with my presence. It is the same with AR, VR and BIM: humans, processes and data, but how to produce meaningful information? That’s the best part of engineering: the social interaction with people, when teaching both colleagues and clients about insightful information management.
